Council to considers a business park proposal

Council at its meeting on 31 March 2020, considered a business plan to develop a business park on 44.6ha of land bound by Southern River Road, Matison Street, Lander Street and Furley Road for high-quality light commercial industries. Following consideration by Council the business plan is now being advertised for community feedback. In accordance with Section 3.59 of the LGA 1995, a local government is to prepare a business plan for a major land transaction. As development of the Southern River Business Plan meets the definition of a major land transaction because of its value, a business plan has been developed.

The business plan is required to be advertised for public comment for period of six weeks. At the end of this period, Council is required to consider any submissions received and decide whether or not to proceed with the proposal.
