Plants for Locals

The City of Gosnells is once again offering residents up to 10 plants per household as part of our Plants for Locals program.

This program is aimed at residents who wish to add some colour and biodiversity to their gardens, reduce water use in the garden or attract native animals. All plants are native, with many being endemic to our region, and waterwise.

Plants will be available in pre-selected packs - each pack contains 10 plants that have been selected for their common qualities or ideal planting location. The packs types available are verge plants, groundcover plants, trees/shrubs and wildflowers. Each pack contains two of each plant.

Registrations are essential and plants will be available for collection on Sunday 4 May at Wilkinson Homestead, Homestead Road, Gosnells. Residents will need to bring proof of residency (either photo ID such as a drivers license and a rates notice or utility bill).

Along with plant collection, residents will be able to tour the museum (including the 'When we were young' exhibition), enjoy the gardens, have a sausage sizzle, browse some stalls, visit the coffee and ice cream vans, and learn more about the environmental initiatives taking place within the City. Switch Your Thinking will also be running some interactive sessions focusing on composting, worm farming and soil health. Bring along a sample of your soil from home and talk to our experts.

Please read the FAQs for more information.
