As part of the City's commitment to providing suitable public open space for all residents, the City has upgraded Wilpon Park. This park has increased in size as park of the City's strategic land purchasing plan. Due to this, new landscaping and play equipment has now been provided.
In addition to the play equipment, works have included a new path through the park, a drink fountain, seating and additional trees to compliment those existing.
With the recent heavy rainfall, Wilpon Park is experiencing some water pooling. The work requires the sand to be sufficiently dry, and we anticipate commencing the installation in October, pending a sustained period of dry weather. To ensure the safety of users, the playground is temporarily closed and will be reopened as soon as the pooling has subsided. The City apologises for any inconvenience.
