Background

The City of Gosnells is constructing a new bus priority lane between Nicholson Road and Campbell Road.

This project will see the installation of two new lanes that will be in operation during peak periods only (6.30am to 9am and 4pm to 6.30pm).

The project scope includes:

  • Two new peak-period (priority) lanes
  • Upgraded Ranford Road / Nicholson Road intersection
  • Continuation of the bus lanes within the City of Canning
  • Safer turning pockets
  • New footpath and principle shared path
  • New landscaping post construction

The bus priority lanes will reduce congestion for all road users and significantly improve public transport in the area. The new lanes will support commuters wishing to access the new Ranford Road and Nicholson Road train stations. These new stations are being constructed as part of the Thornlie to Cockburn Link.

The bus priority lanes will operate in the peak direction (ie. towards Nicholson Road in the morning and away from Nicholson Road in the afternoon). This follows the success of the bus priority lanes further along Ranford Road, and along South Street.
