The City of Gosnells has released its Planting Palette, to assist internal staff and developers when choosing plants for landscape treatments.

The palette has been carefully selected considering these factors:

  • Plant requirements
  • Maintenance responsibilities
  • Aesthetics
  • Minimising irrigation requirements in line with Waterwise principles.

Plants have been grouped into categories:

  1. Groundcovers and climbers
  2. Shrubs up to 3m
  3. Shrubs 3m - 5m
  4. Trees

Use of the Planting Palette will provide consistency across suburbs, parks and streetscapes as well as developers and City staff. There is plenty of room for choice, with each category having between 29 and 94 different recommended plants.

This document can be found on the City's website for future reference: gosnells.wa.gov.au/landscape.
