Works notification

The City is due to commence the next stage of the road duplication project - this stage is the road resurfacing of Burslem Drive.

To enable these works to take place with as little impact on road users as possible, the work has been scheduled as night works.

Work will take place:

  • Monday 18 May - Thursday 21 May - 7pm to 7am
  • Friday 29 May - 7pm to 7am

We will make every effort to reduce the noise impact on surrounding residents, and appreciate your understanding while we complete these works.

Background

The City is duplicating Burslem Drive from the roundabout at Olga Road to the Burslem Drive Bridge. The project is part of our commitment to improve road network capacity and plan for the future duplication of the bridge.

This is stage three of the works to duplicate Burslem Drive from Albany Highway to the Burslem Drive Bridge. Works commenced in early August 2025 and will take approximately 12 months. The section from Albany Highway to Heron Place will be completed in the 2026/27 financial year.

The major changes planned in this project are:

  • A four-lane dual carriageway road
  • A new shared path on the western verge
  • Tree planting

This is a busy part of Maddington and we acknowledge there will be impacts on local and through traffic. Access to properties will be maintained at all times. Delays in traffic movement are to be expected and if possible, it would be advisable to use an alternative route.
