The playground at Auckland Park is to be replaced. It is proposed to install a combination play unit with slides, swings and some nature play elements. In addition, some inclusive equipment is proposed, including a basket swing, sway hammock and rocker.

The sloping site and consequent drainage issues will be rectified, limestone seating walls removed, and footpath replaced.

Existing trees are to be retained and protected while the existing garden bed will be re-mulched.

See the concept plan for more information.

In the short term, remedial works will be done on the softfall edges around the playground. This will enable the playground to be used until it is replaced. All the rubber softfall will then be renewed as part of the playground replacement project.
