The intersection of Albany Highway and Kelvin Road/Olga Road has been at capacity for a number of years.

The State Government has now committed funding to address this issue. The first stage of this work is now completed. The Water Corporation realigned the water pipelines along the intersection.

The next stage of works will be completed by Main Roads WA. It is expected this work will start after the 18-month closure of the Armadale Train Line to reduce impact on Albany Highway traffic.

Works are expected to include:

  • construction of new left and right-turn pockets on both approaches of Albany Highway;
  • construction of a new left turn pocket on Kelvin Road; and
  • upgrades to other infrastructure including drainage, pedestrian paths and crossings, signals, street lighting, pavement marking and signage.

Main Roads WA is yet to release any further information around their planned works.
